Bridgeway Academy is one of the leading providers of individualized education for students with learning disabilities in Nova Scotia. We're now offering our experience to parents, educators and other professionals through our Turning Tides Community Outreach programs.
Bridgeway Academy has developed a number of professional and personal development workshops which will be of interest to anyone working with children with learning disabilities, including parents, caregivers, educators and other professionals.

Teaching Social Skills - Level 1&2
This workshop is designed to help parents, educators and other professionals teach social skills to students with learning disabilities. Participants will learn how to help students make sense of social interactions, communicate their needs in a positive manner and make and maintain relationships.

Understanding ADHD
Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of ADHD, the impact it has in the classroom and at home, and ways to help children struggling with the disorder. Participants will also learn to distinguish between wilful behaviour and behaviour caused by the disorder.
