Social Skills Summer Program

Dates: July 13^thto August 19^th, 2010

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday mornings

Hours: 9:00am to 12:00pm 

Location: Bridgeway Academy, 3 Valleyford Ave., Dartmouth

Capacity: 5-10 students

Cost: $45 per day/$135 per week/$810 for 6 weeks

NEW: This program will also be offered at our Truro location - same dates and times.

There are many skills needed for building and maintaining meaningful relationships with others.  Instructors will focus on the following:

1. First impressions, including appearances, introductions and small talk.  (July 13^th-15^th)
2. Evaluating possible friendships and existing ones.  (July 20^th- 22^nd )
3. Being a good friend and setting personal boundaries.  (July 27^th- 29^th)
4. Extending invitations, awareness of others and how to communicate – assertive vs. passive and aggressive. (Aug 3^th-5^th)
5. Problem solving (Aug 10^th -12^th)
6. Avoiding fights (Aug 17^th –19^th)
