Bridgeway Academy was founded in 1983 by a mother who was convinced that students with learning disabilities could learn and do anything, if they were taught in a way that works for them. Since then, Bridgeway's day school program has helped hundreds of students do more than learn.
They leave our school believing in themselves, with an understanding of their learning disabilities and the ability to advocate for the services they need to succeed. Today, we operate schools in Dartmouth and Truro and work with close to 100 students.
In 2010, we extended our expertise to communities across Nova Scotia through our Turning Tides Community Outreach programs. So far, hundreds of students, parents, teachers and other professionals have benefitted from our experience.
Funding is available for students through the Government of Nova Scotia's Tuition Support Program, and through Bridgeway's Bursary Program. Please contact us for more information.
Bridgeway Academy offers a number of specialized programs to our day school students, which assist with the development of reading, math, organization and social skills. Many of our programs are now available to the community through our Turning Tides Community Outreach services.
